Welcome to the Masonic Fraternity in Madrid, where tradition and brotherhood unite

The Provincial Grand Lodge of Madrid is the first and largest fraternal organization in the region. It brings together the symbolic lodges of the province of Madrid, operating under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Spain, which is the regular Masonic obedience in the country. Its objective is to coordinate and oversee the activities of these lodges, upholding the principles and values of regular Freemasonry. It is guided by the firm conviction that we all have the responsibility to contribute to a better world. For over 300 years, Freemasonry has strengthened and enriched the character of men by offering opportunities for fellowship, charity, and the pursuit of truth, both within ourselves and in the world around us.

– Brother: Every member in good standing of the Masonic fraternity receives the title of Brother, granted at their initiation.

Initially, stonemasons’ workshops formed local organizations called lodges, which served to care for sick or injured brothers and the families of those who passed away. Today, the term refers to both a group of Masonic brothers and the place where they meet.

Although there are approximately five million Masons worldwide, each Grand Lodge is sovereign and independent. All lodges follow the same principles of Freemasonry, but there is no international governing body.
